2016 Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, in partnership with the Rutgers Institute for Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security, a federally-designated Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence, is offering an internship opportunity for current Rutgers University undergraduate and graduate students seeking a career in the Intelligence Community, Law Enforcement, and/or Homeland Security.  The 10-week Summer Internship Program is designed to provide the experience and skills needed to work as an Intelligence Analyst.  Students will be offered the opportunity to work with experienced intelligence and crime analysts and detectives in the areas of data collection, database exploitation, open source collection, crime trends, street gangs, and analysis of suspicious activity related to potential terrorism.    Students will conduct research and analysis to identify suspects, organizations, and geographical areas to optimize resource deployment to predict and prevent crime and/or terrorist acts within the county.  Students will produce analytical reports to aid investigations.

Eligibility

You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Internship Program:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at Rutgers University
  • U.S. citizen
  • Pass a criminal background investigation
  • Pass a drug screening test
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Possess basic Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher skills
  • Possess basic social media skills (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

Accepted students will be awarded a $2,000 stipend.

2016 HSSAI Summer Internship PROGRAM

The Rutgers Institute for Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security (IEPHS) has partnered with ANSER to provide an invaluable summer internship experience to Rutgers students seeking careers in the intelligence field.

The 2016 HSSAI Summer Internship Program will allow students to work side-by-side with intelligence professionals for a 10-week period in the Washington, DC metro area.  The Homeland Security Studies and Analysis Institute (HSSAI) is a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) operated by ANSER on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). HSSAI delivers independent, objective analysis and specialized expertise to help homeland security leaders address their most complex operational and policy issues, and transform homeland security goals and objectives into meaningful strategies, operational requirements, and metrics.

Students will have the opportunity to work on the following projects over the 10-week period:

  • Reactions to Terrorist Internet Propaganda
  • Threats to Houses of Worship and Faith-based Communities in the U.S.
  • Challenges to Trusted Community Policing

Accepted students will be awarded a $5,000 stipend.
